This was chosen to be on a Sunday so it will not interfere with anyone's football schedule.

Dont know if there is a cost. I should probably find out. I assume voting is for dues paying members only. Very Happy

I hope something happens this year to invigorate the party. It has been 8 long years with zero effort by the party leaders. Another year of no action plan, a few MJ rallies and a moribund disinterested crowd from Birmingham? I suspect the answer is yes. Stomped by the T Party. Sorry effort indeed.

Dear friends of liberty:

We are looking for folks that are self starters and excited about liberty! Want to help build a libertarian revolution? Become involved in the LPA!

At the upcoming convention we will be electing officers.
All positions are open for election.

From the LPA Bylaws:
Section 1. The officers of the Party shall be the Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer. The officers are elected at the Annual Party Convention and take office immediately following the close of the Convention. No offices shall be combined.

Section 2. The Chair shall preside at all Party Conventions and at all meetings of the Executive Committee, and shall be the chief executive officer of the Party.

Section 3. The Vice-Chair shall act as assistant to the Chair and shall perform the duties of the Chair during periods in which the Chair is unable to perform those duties.

Section 4. The Secretary shall be responsible for maintaining the Party membership list, taking minutes of Executive Committee meetings, and keeping other records as required by the Chair or Executive Committee.

Section 5. The Treasurer shall receive, disburse, and account for the funds of the Party under the supervision of the Chair and the Executive Committee. The Treasurer shall prepare an annual report and make available any financial information required by the Executive Committee.

Here are some additional notes of the jobs:

Chair Job Description: Provide leadership and direction for the party. To be the public voice of the LPA and be willing to appear on various media.

Vice Chair Job Description: Preside at EC meetings when the Chair can’t. Channel inquiries to the appropriate person (Regional rep, officer, committee leader etc.) Provide logistical support for meetings, party events, and outreach efforts). Direct efforts of volunteers. Share in pick-up and sorting of incoming mail (opening and calling chair’s attention to apparently urgent items)

Secretary Job Description: Attend EC Meetings and take Minutes at Executive Committee Meetings and prepare and post them to the EC. Keep the Membership. Other duties: Support and help the Chair, Vice-Chair and EC in general as needed; check the messages at the office. Help the Regional Representatives as needed. Familiarity with database management helpful.

Treasurer Job Description: Accounting degree is helpful but not necessary. Being detail oriented is a must. Familiarity with Quickbooks is very helpful.

Call if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
Mike Rster
Vice Chair Emeritus
