|One thing that was presented to the delegates was an appeal to help stop the "Top-Two" initiative in California. Details can be found at http://www.stoptoptwo.org/, but in general it would change primaries from a party-base to a free-for-all. Anyone could vote for anyone they chose, regardless of party affiliation, with only the top two candidates with the most votes getting on the general election ballot even if both candidates are from the same party.
Washington (the state) passed this a couple of years ago, and the delegate from Washington reported how donations to her party have practically disappeared -- nobody wants to donate to a party that has no chance of getting on the ballot.
Even the "Wall Street Journal" seems to think that this is a GOOD idea. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703957604575272573513707574.html?KEYWORDS=%22Top-Two%22
If you have friends or relatives in California, please contact them to ensure they understand what "Proposition 14" really is and will vote against it.
