Sad Wow, just found several major problems with this web site, which could (does?) result in fewer participants.

It all started AFTER I HAD LOGGED IN, and went to my profile to change my email address. Did that, entered my password again to confirm, it took, and then when I went back to email an individual, it said I wasn't logged in.

And I couldn't log in again. It kept saying my username and/or password was wrong. When I tried to recover my password, it said my account had been deactivated and to contact the board administrator.

There are no links to contact the board administrator that I could find. I clicked on "lpaforum" and then tried to email (and private message) that contact, but you have to be logged in to use those features.

SO, I re-registered (but can't use the email address I really want to use because it's "already registered".)

During the registration process, you have to answer the question "What was the first name of the LP Presidential candidate named Browne." It says that's to prevent spam (automated entries I assume), but that particular question could keep someone from registering. (If they don't know, they are not going to look it up.)

Ubuntu also uses that method for preventing spam, but there questions run more along the line of "how much is 2+2?" After all, the point isn't to test a registrants knowledge but to keep out spambots.

Hope someone from the board administration will either read this or read the reply to my registration that I sent.

Ciao yo'all.

JD,
I got your email through Jim, and reactivated jdcrownover and deactivated jd.crownover as you asked. You're right about that registration question being too arcane and I'll try to find time to follow your suggestion and make it a more generic question. Thanks,
Steve
